Ethics & AI Safety
At HDTwin, we believe that synthetic research must be grounded in ethical responsibility and scientific rigor. Our “Human Digital Twins” are designed to provide insights that are helpful, honest, and harmless.
1. Bias Sterilization Technology
LLMs often carry implicit biological, cultural, and historical biases from their training data. HDTwin implements a proprietary Bias Sterilization layer that:
- Neutralizes Toxins: Filters out harmful or discriminatory language at the agent level.
- Corrects Stereotypes: Adjusts the distribution of agent responses to ensure they don’t default to common LLM tropes, instead aligning with the statistical realities of the target panel.
- Neuro-Symbolic Anchoring: Uses symbolic logic to ensure agents stay within the “logical guardrails” of their assigned persona.
2. Explainable AI (XAI)
We mitigate the “black box” approach to LLM AI. Every Human Digital Twin is accompanied by a semantic definition that is available to the “studio” application users.
3. Human Oversight
HDTwin is a Human-in-the-loop platform. Our tools are designed to assist researchers, not replace human judgment:
- Researcher Control: Decisions on survey design, agent configuration, and insight interpretation always remain with the human user.
- Auditability: Complete logs for AI operations allow for retrospective review and quality control.
4. Prohibited Uses
We strictly prohibit the use of HDTwin for:
- Generating content intended to deceive or manipulate democratic processes.
- Creating deepfakes or impersonating specific real-world individuals without consent.
- Developing applications that violate the fundamental rights defined by the EU Charter.
5. Continuous Monitoring
Our AI Ethics Committee regularly reviews our bias mitigation strategies and the outputs of our models to ensure they meet the evolving standards of AI safety and fairness.
